Privacy policy


This is our Privacy Policy, i.e. of the non-profit-organization Stiftung Judokalliance gUG (haftungsbeschränkt), Theresienstr. 56, 50931 Cologne (Köln), Germany, represented by its managing director Mr. Markus Schulten, registered with the commercial register of the AG Cologne (Köln) under No. HRB 79562 – a non-profit-organization with the objective of promoting Judo as a sport for all – for the use of the Websites www.judokalliance.com and www.myjudonetwork.com as well as of all our other Websites operated under the URLs “judokalliance” or “myjudonetwork“ with any respective country- or other URL-ending (together the “Websites”).

By registering with us on the Websites you confirm that you as a Judoka (i.e. an athlete, coach, referee, supporter, volunteer etc.) have read and understood this Privacy Policy and accept it as part of an agreement on the use of the Websites governed by our General Terms and Conditions (the “GTCs”). With your consent to this Privacy Policy you – as a Judoka (see above) – give us permission to collect, store and use your personal data for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Therefore, please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

We regard the right to privacy and data security as a high priority and respect your privacy. Therefore, we collect, store, and use your personal data only in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, particularly with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, the “BDSG”) and Telemedia Law (Telemediengesetz, the “TMG”) and will act as a roof organization with the duty to protect the personal data of every participating Judoka.

The “relevant responsible institution” according to the BDSG is the non-profit-organization Stiftung Judokalliance gUG (haftungsbeschränkt), Theresienstr. 56, 50931 Cologne (Köln), Germany, represented by its managing director Mr. Markus Schulten, registered with the commercial register of the AG Cologne (Köln) under No. HRB 79562 (see Imprint).

1. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

1.1 In order for us to include you and your personal judoka-profile in the data base of the Websites you have to register an user-account with us (see No. 2 of the GTCs), and we have to store all kinds of data you provide us with for publication within the Websites and publish it there online. All information you provide us with voluntarily will exclusively be utilized in compliance with the BDSG, the TMG and this Privacy Policy.

1.2 Your personal data will only be collected to the extent to which you provide us with voluntarily while using the Websites. This includes your full name, address, E-Mail-address, gender, date of birth as well as the data concerning your judoka-profile (Judo-club, Judo-competitions participated in, the respective results and dates, ranking, belt color etc.).

1.3 In addition to this, we use your personal Judo-data – if you agree – for customer care purposes, for instance for the delivery of our newsletter via E-Mail (see Sec. 5). You may opt not to receive this information anymore at any time by calling us or by sending us an E-Mail, a fax or a written letter (see Imprint for contact data).

1.4 In accordance with Sec. 4.9 of the GTCs, we will transfer your personal data only to those Judo-clubs and Judo-associations such as the IJF, the EJU and other continental federations you selected; this always under the provision that they may only transfer your personal data to the national/regional federations organized below them, without a right for any further transfer to other third parties. Neither the Judo-clubs and -organizations nor the national/regional federations organized below them, may use the data for commercial purposes or further transfer it to third parties without your express consent; rather, the data-chain is only intended to serve the purpose of creating a networking-solution for all Judoka with their respective associations and clubs in order to permanently provide an organized communication system between the association/club and the athletes on every level (e.g. to register for and organization of judo-competitions, to manage and address members of the Judo-clubs, judoka etc.).

1.5 If for any reason it may be required in the future to operate the website www.myjudonetwork.com and its corresponding Judoka-database through a seperate company, we will forward your personal data only to a respective company affiliated with Stiftung Judokalliance gUG (haftungsbeschränkt) according to §§ 15 ff. German Public Companies Act (Aktiengesetz, the “AktG”) which may utilize this data also only in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act, the TMG and this Privacy Policy.

2. Forwarding and Publishing of Personal Data

2.1 Generally, we will not forward your personal data to third parties except to Judo organizations such as the IJF, the EJU or the respective national or regional Judo-unions and/or -federations as well as local Judo-clubs. We assure you that we will furthermore not forward your personal data to any third party, unless we were legally obliged or you have previously agreed.

2.2 However, we also reserve the right to create anonymized user profiles based on the collected user data by using pseudonyms for advertisement purposes, market research, sponsor information, or for the purpose of a tailored design to suit market needs of our partners, and also to scan the data base of the Websites for such purposes and to publish anonymized extracts of it.

2.3 Also, of course, all personal data provided by you and respectively selected for publication will be made publicly available on the Websites which after all is supposed to be a Judoka-data base for the public interest. This does not apply to your address and such personal data provided by you that you select to omit from publication.

2.4 You are entitled to object against any of this use of your user data at any time (see Sec. 3).

3. Right of Objection

According to the BDSG if certain conditions are fulfilled, you have a right to have the data stored in our files corrected, blocked or deleted gratuitously. At any rate, you have a right to be informed about the personal data stored on about you at any time. For both, please contact us as laid out in the Imprint.

4. Legality of Data Processing and Use of Data

4.1 According to the BDSG the processing and use of personal data is allowed if the BDSG or another provision allows it or if the customer agreed to the use of his or her data. The BDSG always allows the processing and use of data, if it is done within the purpose of a contract or a similar legal relationship based on mutual trust.

4.2 The processing of personal data is also allowed, if it is necessary for the protection of legitimate interests of the place storing the data or of a third person, for instance an addressee, and if there is no reason to suspect that the protectable interests of the person concerned with regard to the exclusion of such processing or use prevail or if such prevailing interests actually exists.

5. Newsletter

5.1 On your approval, your first name, surname and E-Mail-address will be used for our advertising purposes, when registering for the newsletter by way of the “Double-Opt-In”-method. Such newsletters will be sent by us or may also be sent by the various Judo-organizations and -clubs mentioned in Sec. 2 relevant to you.

5.2 You may opt not to receive this newsletter anymore any time by calling us or by sending us an E-Mail, a fax or a written letter (see Imprint for contact data). You will also find a link for withdrawing your approval for this purpose in every newsletter.

6. Cookies

6.1 “Cookies” are text files placed on your computer to help the Websites analyze how users use the site. The Websites use Cookies, provided that you choose to accept them. Cookies are used by us because they are essential to the ordering process.

6.2 In addition to this, we use Cookies for the purpose of statistical analysis for instance with regard to the number of visitors and sites visited. We assure you that in this regard no personal data, like for example your name or your address, will be collected or stored. This data will only be processed anonymously or by use of an alias.

6.3 You can deactivate cookies at any time in the settings of your Internet browser or be alerted every time cookies appear, to be able to decide whether you wish to accept cookies in individual cases (”Cookie Alert”). To do this, please see your web browser manual or help function or consult the menu item “Internet Options” (Microsoft Internet Explorer) or the respective menu item in any other browser you may use. You may not be able to access some parts of this site if you choose to disable the cookie acceptance in your browser.

6.4 This data is only collected for the purpose of data security and for optimizing our web offer. There will be no other evaluation of the data, except for statistical purposes, and then generally in an anonymous form. Personal surfing profiles or the like are not created or processed, either.

7. Google Analytics

The Websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses Cookies (see Sec. 6). The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will normally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. in case this website opted for the activation of the anonymization of IP-addresses, Google will shorten your IP-address in States that are members of the EU or the European Trade Agreement. Only in exceptional circumstances will your full IP-Address be transmitted to servers in the USA and will be shortened there. In accordance with the administrator of the Site Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Data concerning your IP-address that has been transmitted by your browser through the use of Google Analytics will not be connected with other data collected by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
